Finally joined Facebook !

After years of resisting, I've finally decided to give in and join Facebook. Not necessarily because I want to be part of the fad, mind you, but because someone I went to college with, divorced her husband of 20 years, and is now marrying her EX-husband's best friend, and both these guys were from our same college too! So now I'm seriously wondering what the rest of the gang is up to.

I created an account, uploaded a recent photo of myself (a glamor shot I just did ...lol...) & is ready to see what all the fuss is about. I sort of expect everyone I went to college with to have gained weight, but it appears the exact opposite of that happened. Now I'm glad I had went for my botox & threading treatments, took Garbaslim (fat burner ) regularly before my picture was taken.

Hmmm... & guess what, I've been invited to join many strange games. But who has time for that when there's shopping to be done ...lol...?  Oh....I'm going for dinner with a group of them tonight. Can't wait :)

Losing memory ?

I had lunch appointment with a friend yesterday. Reached the restaurant early & texted her, just in case. Thank goodness I did that cos' she had totally forgot about our appointment! Lucky she's living in Orchard & within 20 mins she appeared barely dressed with uncombed hair. Asked her what's with her memory, hope she's not losing it.

She said: "Forget memory- you get to my age it's all about teeth or hair ! " ..lol...
And she's only 3 years older !

Lunch @ Chikuyotei Japanese Restaurant

I had lunch at Chikuyotei Japanese Restaurant the other day. My friend kept snapping pictures at the food. This has become a thing hasn't it? Everyone is doing that. I was telling her, how can you enjoy the food when you are concentrating on taking it's picture & then sms it to everyone else.

She looked at me as if I'm from somewhere else, & reasoned:"Goodness, we are lunching at Inter-continental's Chikuyotei Japanese Restaurant, the world should know! " ...lol...
To be honest, she has a point, it's one of my favorite restaurant, & they are seriously very good. Maybe the world should know! OK, if you can't beat them, join them:) Below are the ones I snapped. By the way, it's as good as it looks !

Wine enthusiast

Loo my good friend called to tell me about her latest buy, a 2008 Lafite (I think) ! She was  so excited & wanted me over to celebrate. If I don't appear by 9pm tonight, the wine will be gone !!!This friend is very crazy over wines. She named her 2 beloved dogs : Lafite & Merlot....lol...  She almost invested in a vineyard some years back. If not for her very level headed husband, she really would had bought it. These days she'll go through her rounds of visiting hereby vineyards, e.g. from Thailand & even China. She had gone to most of the usual suspects from France, Australia to California & even Chile twice over. Always asking me to tag along, but I never did.

Well I'm not really a 'serious' wine person. Yes I do enjoy a good glass of wine or champagne once in a while but that's all. To me wine is such a transitory thing. It doesn't have any real existence in time. You open the bottle, you drink it, it's gone, And such enduring pleasure as the experience holds lies in the memory, or the anticipation. You can of course, soak off the label & pin it up on the wall to impress your friends, but that's the only lasting trophy you get. Like a stag's head mounted on a board to remind you of the hunt. So ; if the wine's not actually there, or gone, does it really matter all that much?

I told her that & she almost scream, at me ....haha...

When a close friend dies ......

On Judy's last day, I went to her place, opened the room's window so that she could look out into her garden. I slipped my arm through hers & she softly said "Don't". She has been doing it for days now. Picturing the world without her in it. She was erasing herself, withdrawing , saying good bye, because it seemed like the right thing to do.

Judy said it was a little like being in love with someone who doesn't love you back. The very act that they don't need you makes them a thousand times more desirable & beautiful & the object of our devotion. Sometimes it's the impossibility of a thing that makes it irresistible. And right then, being alive was the thing she was in love with, the thing that didn't care if she was there or not.

Every leaf, every blade of grass, ever bug and pebble was bathed in a new kind of light for her. Every single thing she looked at was breathtakingly, effortlessly, perfectly itself. Even the most ordinary thing she could think of- a pillow, a painting, a letter -was part of the biggest , most persuasive, most extraordinary miracle there is, as solid as a rock & at the same time as fine & breakable as a single strand of hair.

She told me, when you know for certain you are losing a thing, you suddenly see how much you have loved it, & how you ought to have taken better care of it all along.

It was getting dark when she died. She was ready to go. I figured that's what happens when you get close. It's just a step down, no big deal. I hoped so anyway. I hoped she was watching us by then from another place entirely, somewhere quiet & painless & apart. And while I was hoping & holding her hand, she slipped away.

Hilarious Confessions

I saw my beautician at Paragon the other day. She was with her kid, I cant help but noticed how much he has grown because his pants were looking so short on him. Last time I saw him was just 2 months ago when she brought him to work & I was at her shop.

She was all  " I KNOW! He is getting so mature and sprouting up so quickly." I must be staring at the boy because she suddenly looked very embarrassed & confessed that he was in his LITTLE BROTHER'S JEANS! He hadn't grown even a centimeter. [extra confession: this is not the first time she has sent one of her kids to school in the wrong clothes!]

OMG.... I couldn't stop laughing..... I console her a little & quickly leave because I don't think i can keep a straight face for more than a minute. It's too funny.....

Review: Whitening jabs for skin whitening & rejuvenation with Dr Keith Ong

This is my review of the Whitening Jab for skin whitening & rejuvenation. Truth is I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. It makes plenty of sense. Instead of the usual treatments, where doctors only inject fillers to certain problematic areas to fill up anything that's sagging, this whitening jabs is done on the entire face. As such the result looks more natural. That's what I love about it.

How does the whitening jabs work ?

This whitening injections rejuvenates the skin by enhancing the hydration levels within the skin tissues and increasing its elasticity, firmness and smoothness. The treatment involves a series of tiny injections of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body and functions to maintain hydration levels in the skin. However, as we age the hyaluronic acid level in our body diminishes. The whitening jabs replaces the lost hyaluronic acid and restores the skin’s natural hydration. It also function to stimulate the production of collagen and improves skin elasticity. It further lifts and soothes away fine lines and restores your skin firmness and youthful radiance.

Who is suitable for these Whitening jabs:
• Both men and women
• All areas of the face.
• People with acne scarring
Is it Safe?
Yes. These whitening injections are natural, and have been tested and documented safe, and also have received FDA approval.

Are there any side effects?
You may experience some redness, swelling, itching or tenderness at the injection site. Typically this resolves within a week. For me, I just experience redness that's all & it recovered after a few days.

How long will results last?
Hyaluronic acid is naturally broken down in the body, but can last typically about 12 to 18 months depending on the person.

I do recommend this whitening & tightening treatment as the outcome is more natural than anything that I've even done!

2016, Time to Deal with your Wrinkles ....lol...

I have said this again & again!
Nothing ages you like all the lines on your face!
Crow's feet, forehead lines, smile lines and even lines on your nose!
To be very honest, the quickest way to make these wrinkles go away : the fastest & best fix can only be found at your doctor's clinic. Nothing in an expensive jar of cream can fix it, at least not yet.
These creams advertisement might promise you the world but it just wont happen.

Fillers, botox is going to cost you a little more.
But that's the only way right now to see real results short of plastic surgery- which is neither fast nor easy! So ladies you know what to do, do yourself a favor & deal with your wrinkles!
